Our Resident Chefs offer you a fine dining experience in an idyllic location!

Enjoy your choice of breakfast from 6.30 to 9.30am at private tables on the terrace at Mango Villa, fragrant with the scent of spices and flowers from our gardens. 
Breakfast will include: locally grown tea or coffee; seasonal, freshly prepared juices or smoothies; fresh fruit plate; your choice of bread and home-made jams or marmalade. You can go Sri Lankan and enjoy our egg hoppers, or go Western with omelette/eggs cooked to order, made from our farm’s free range eggs, with a choice of bacon, sausage, baked beans tomato and mushrooms.

During the day, our chefs will delight you with western-style snacks, including club sandwiches, burgers, or traditional Sri Lankan rice and curry, cooked to perfection.  You might even like to learn how to cook your very own rice and curry to delight the rest of your party! As the sun sets over the mountains and the cool breezes fan across Jim’s Farm, you will enjoy your pre-dinner drinks with a range of nibbles, as our chefs create your evening meal from their range of international and local dishes based on farm fresh produce. Here are some sample dishes:

Starter/Salad
Chef’s Salad: a fragrant mix of local leaves and herbs, choice of dressing: passion fruit vinaigrette or caesar, with a Sri Lankan twist; Greek salad; Waldorf salad; Prawn wontons; samosas.

Soups 
Mulligatawny; Butternut squash; Pumpkin; Carrot and coriander; Spinach; Broccoli and nutmeg

Mains
- Crab Thermidor with crushed potatoes and creamed farm spinach

- Tandoori Chicken

- Prawn Biryani

- Chicken Cordon Bleu

We offer a wide range of Sri Lankan vegetarian and meat-based curries, including jackfruit, snake gourd, bottle gourd, cashew, sambol, chicken and beef.

Desserts  
Poached pears; Watalappan (traditional Sri Lankan coconut pudding) with roasted cashews;
Crème brulee;
Fresh fruit plate; Banana fritters; Spicy caramelised pineapple with home-made cinnamon ice-cream

Your dining style

Whilst breakfast can be enjoyed in the privacy of your own table, dinner will be a communal affair round our fabulous solid teak dining tables.  Our owner - when in attendance - will host the table as you meet and exchange stories of the day’s experiences with fellow travellers and new friends.

However, if you would prefer to dine privately, we can offer you personal service in a location of your choice.  Please make your request for private dining on arrival or at breakfast. 

Of course, you may prefer to rent either of the Villas for exclusive use, in which case you decide how, when and where you would like your party to dine.  

We have a portable barbecue to add an extra dimension to your dining experience.

We would be delighted to accommodate your special dietary requirements provided we have adequate notice, so please do mention these when you book.

Our Chefs love to experiment with new ingredients and will welcome your suggestions and introduce you to new flavours and produce.  We understand that experiencing the delights of Sri Lankan cuisine is an important part of your holiday, but that you may also want to mix and match Sri Lankan spice with traditional Western dishes.

Come and explore the fantastic range of Sri Lankan fruit and vegetables with us!  Our farm tour will show you how and where they are grown right across Jim’s Farm, and you can pick your own bananas, mangoes, limes and papaya for your fresh breakfast juice.
